In the Theatre: A rare showing of Jocelyn Thomas originals. The highlight of the exhibit: the unveiling of images for the mural panel for Fernie’s Tom Uphill Manor. This former “king” of BC politics was mayor for 11 years, MLA for 40. (If ever there was a Fernie First Citizen. . . . ) Peruse Jocelyn’s “narrative” realism applied to the wide western category of trains, horses, cowboys, fisherman, skiers and all in between — over tea and cakes.
Thomas also interprets the Fernie experience thoroughly and has rendered many images for museum shops, and is responsible for Fernie’s centennial panel. Wunderkind Jessis Plessis, will tickle the ivories, and the bonus: a mini-exhibit of Knud Larsen photographs.
