Instructor: Carolyn Nikodym
April 15 - June 3, 8 Tuesdays, 7 - 9 pm
Let’s have some fun with language. Let’s look at different ways to make your writing pop off the page.
Whether you write fiction or non-fiction, learning to choose the “write” words is as important as eating your breakfast. It’s the fuel to get you through.
We’ll look at different ways to get the writing brain juiced and running without focusing on results. We’ll play with nonsense verbs and rhetorical schemes. We’ll romp in mood-altering words and open new doors of perception. We’ll discover the benefits of writing in the here and now. We’ll play with different points of view and unleash their different powers.
There’ll be a lot of discussion and a lot of in-class writing and a tiny bit of homework. We may do a bit of work-shopping of your existing works in progress, but the hope is that you’ll be able to take what we learn and apply it to your own practice.
Cost: $80 (+ $35 Arts Station membership if you don’t have one)
