An exhibition of new paintings and drawings by local Fernie artist Melanie MacVoy. Those that are familiar with MacVoy’s acrylic paintings of old growth cedar trees may be curious to view her work in a different medium rediscovered by the artist. Melanie reveals her style of expressive mixed media drawing of the same subject using conte, chalk pastel, erasers and pen. Earthly colours meld and contrast while juxtaposed with bright backlighting to stimulate the visceral senses. Large and small works of art available, some framed with reclaimed cedar.
