Discover the joy of making pottery on the wheel. From mugs to simple bowls the items will be trimmed and finished then glazed and fired in a kiln for a useful finished article. Anything is possible. This class is for beginners and those with limited experience. Limited to 4 people, this becomes almost individual instruction.

Build your knowledge and the potters secrets from a full-time potter. Take your wheel skills to a new level… The class will focus on learning how to make jars, lids and spouts. Eventually, putting all these parts together to make a teapot! Also wheel made forms will be altered to create exciting art forms.

Working with a choice of a full or eight pane 20”x33”antique window (supplied), the workshop will teach how to prep the old window and learn to apply pressed flowers in a ‘flower garden’ design. The finished piece will adorn a house beautifully. Small groups enables almost individual attention by the instructor.

Cost: $150 includes all materials. Bring a brown bag lunch!

Beyond basics

Saturday April 24 & Sunday April 25, 9:30am-5:30pm

Delve more deeply into developing a painting in simple, easy steps. The course will include discussion on how to work with paints to catch the beauty in painting: mountains; cliffs; rocks; water; and rapids. Start with simple materials and finish with a work of art! Students will learn how to tone a painting surface, blocking in a painting and then going back in to complete the details. Learning how to achieve a fair amount of realism by building on basic skills. Bring your own paint & supplies (listing given on registration).

5 Studio sessions - Friday, April 30, May 7, 14, 21, 28, 6:30-8:30pm.

Starting with understanding the instrument, learn how to: tune a guitar; basic chords; and strumming & learning to pick a simple tune. Start to learn melodies & rhythm. Limited registration allows for individualized learning. Bring your (or a friends) guitar!
