Accessibility at The Arts Station
At The Arts Station, we believe the arts should be accessible to everyone. We are committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and promoting access to arts and cultural opportunities throughout our community. Our goal is to remove barriers and create warm, inclusive spaces where everyone feels supported and welcome.
Facility Accessibility
The Arts Station’s main floor is accessible by a ramp and an accessible door on the Fernie Hotel side of the building. This entrance provides access to the main floor, where universal washrooms are located and where programs can be relocated to support accessibility requirements. If you have specific needs when registering for programs or events, please let us know. We’re happy to adjust spaces or provide support!
Universal Washrooms
The Arts Station features universal washrooms that are fully accessible and barrier‑free. These washrooms include gender‑neutral stalls with a toilet, sink, and ample turning space for people using wheeled mobility devices. A power‑operated entrance door provides easy access.
These facilities are designed to support privacy, comfort, and dignity for people of all abilities, including those who may require assistance from an attendant. They are also welcoming and convenient for families with young children and anyone who prefers a more flexible, inclusive washroom experience.
Financial Accessibility
Our studio spaces and programs are supported through grant funding, FDAC memberships and community donations. As a non‑profit organisation, we work to reduce financial barriers so more people can participate in the arts. Additional subsidies are available for all programming.
