Equity in the Arts

  • The Arts Station is equipped with a ramp and accessible door on the Fernie Hotel end for access to the main floor. When registering for programs please indicate requirements, programs can be moved to the main floor. 
  • The Arts Station features universal washrooms. This means they are fully accessible and barrier free. We are proud to provide gender neutral stalls that are family accessible, including a stall with a sink and baby change station.
  • We are consistently making modifications to improve inclusivity. Please tell us what you need to make the space more welcoming.
  • Our studio spaces and programs are subsidized through grant funding and community support. As a non-profit organisation, we aim to remove barriers from participation in the Arts. Further Subsidies are also available all programming. Please enquire via info@theartsstation.com
  • We are committed to promoting equal access to diverse arts and cultural opportunities in our community.
Safe Work Space
We acknowledge that the Fernie Arts Station is located within Qukin ʔamakʔis, the unceded traditional territory of Yaq̓it ʔa·knuqⱡi’it (YA-KIT-ANEW-LE-IT). We recognize that we live and work within their vast lands. ʔakanuxunik̓ are from Yaq̓it ʔa·knuqⱡi‘it and are members of the Ktunaxa (Kootenay) speaking peoples of British Columbia, Idaho and Montana.
