FDAC Board Director Opportunities

The Fernie & District Arts Council is seeking new Directors for the next two-year term starting September 2026 until 2028.

Nominations will be presented for election at the AGM on September 24th, 2026.

Fill out the form below or submit in writing to the attention of the Governance Committee by September 3rd, 2026.
All nominated potential Board members must be members in good standing and sign the provided consent form prior to nomination.

FDAC are looking to best serve the community and in order to do so we are looking for diverse and varying Board directors that reflect who the organisation represents. Those interested should be dedicated to providing their expertise to moving our mandate forward and providing opportunities to the entire community.

Desired Skills and Interests (2026–2028)

We are seeking a diverse range of perspectives, experiences, and skills to strengthen our Board of Directors. In particular, we encourage applications from individuals and groups who are currently underrepresented on our board.

Desired skills and interests include:

Representation from underrepresented individuals and communities.
Music and performing arts experience or knowledge.
Strong community connections and engagement.
Financial management, accounting, or business experience.
Fundraising and resource development experience.
A willingness to actively support the implementation of the organization’s current Strategic Plan.
An interest in learning and contributing as an effective governance board member under the BC Societies Act.

These skills and experiences are considered assets, but they are not required. If you are passionate about supporting the arts and believe you have something meaningful to contribute, we encourage you to apply.
