The Arts Station and the Fernie Women’s Resource Centre are proud to partner for activities all week long to celebrate, empower, and raise awareness for women’s equity.

Fernie and the Elk Valley are home to extraordinary women who strengthen our community every day. This International Women’s Day, the celebration starts on March 8th and then carries on all week long. Everyday there will be something on offer including workshops, exhibits and live performances. With something for everyone, join us as we honor the women who inspire us all.

About Our Partners

The Arts Station
At The Arts Station, our mission is to provide access to the arts and foster safe, inspiring spaces to create, connect, and grow. Fair payment to artists is a cornerstone of all our programs, ensuring that creativity is both valued and sustained.

The Fernie Women’s Resource Centre
Since 1979, the Fernie Women’s Resource Centre has been serving the Elk Valley communities of Fernie, Sparwood, Elkford, and the South Country. We aim to raise the status of women, offer support for women and their families, and provide education on issues impacting women. Our vision is equality and justice for all women, and we strive to remove barriers to their full participation in all aspects of life.

We are so thrilled to be partnering with the Fernie Arts Station to celebrate International Women’s Day 2026. As we celebrate Iconic Women, we also reflect on the ongoing struggle for gender equity and stand up against gender-based violence.

This year, more than ever, it is so important that we come together to celebrate the women and gender-diverse folks in our lives, lift up their voices, and hold each other up in collective care.

Our goal is to create a safe and inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome to join in and be part of this special weekend. We are honoured to showcase the women in our community whose talent inspires us every day.

Support Women’s Programs
Funds raised during the week will support programs facilitated by the Fernie Women’s Resource Centre. Donations are welcome and appreciated.
