The Arts Station supports live performance in ways that align with our capacity, resources, and community programming. While we no longer host indoor concerts, we continue to offer outdoor live music each summer through our Wednesday Socials concert series.
Wednesday Socials
The Wednesday Socials are a summer tradition in Fernie! Every Wednesday in July and August, The Fernie & District Arts Council is brings free outdoor live music to Station Square in downtown Fernie.
Performers have the opportunity to connect with an enthusiastic audience in a vibrant, inclusive atmosphere filled with community energy, food trucks, local vendors, a beverage garden, and a kids’ craft tent – all powered by the hard work of volunteers, community sponsors, and funders.

Why Perform at the Socials
The Wednesday Socials have become a summer staple in Fernie, drawing locals and visitors who love music, community, and fun summer nights. By performing, you’ll contribute to this cherished event while gaining exposure in a dynamic and supportive environment.
What to Expect as a Performer
- Chance to share your music with a vibrant audience of 1000+ people who might discover their new favourite artists. This is an excellent chance to reach new audiences including locals and visitors to Fernie.
- Family-friendly environment with attendees of all ages in a welcoming, inclusive space for locals and visitors alike
- Perform alongside a lineup featuring unique Canadian musicians or bands, with a focus on diverse musical genres
- Lively setting with a beverage garden featuring Fernie Brewing Company, BC Cider, and BC Wine, plus food trucks, local vendors, and a kids’ craft tent.
- This event is loud and social, so you should be able to carry a crowd!
Fees & Additional Considerations
Performers receive:
- A guaranteed fee
- Accommodation (based on two performers sharing)
- A meal buyout
- Sound tech & PA
We receive a high volume of inquiries and are not able to respond to all booking requests.
Additional notes:
- We do not pay for travel so please include this is your artist fee and consider tour routes.
- We have a two week radius (before and after the date) clause for Fernie so will not book a band that is already scheduled to play in the area. We are a small town and work with other venues/presenters.
- We do not provide backline (amps, instruments etc other than a drum kit. Please include any additional items in your request which will be factored into the fee.
Indoor Concerts
At this time, we are no longer taking bookings for indoor live music or concerts at The Arts Station.
If you’re looking for performance opportunities in Fernie, we encourage you to explore other local venues such as the Knox and various bars and restaurants that regularly host live music.
