The Arts Station is home to several arts and cultural groups that meet regularly in the building. These groups were instrumental in developing the Station as an arts centre in the 80’s and have called it home ever since. Fernie Visual Artist Guild
The Fernie Visual Artists Guild provides a safe and positive place for members to explore, learn and develop creativity in various mediums. They build opportunities for education through workshops by group members or by hiring out of town instructors. They continually share our talents with the community, to promote the value of the arts. They meet on Tuesday afternoons (12-3pm) in the winter at The Arts Station and in the community for Plein Air during the summer. Fernie Fibre Arts Guild
The Fernie Fibre Arts Guild mandate is to share and educate the community on the fibre arts. They work in all areas of the Fibre Arts including: spinning, weaving, dyeing, felting, knitting, crocheting, rug hooking. They normally meet on the third Monday of the month from 10-3 in the upstairs studios. They usually create until 1pm followed by a business meeting and show and tell. Fernie Quilters Guild
The Fernie Quilt Guild meet the second Tuesday of each month for a business meeting, 7-9pm. The primary purposes of the Fernie Quilters’ Guild is to provide education and mutual support to the Guild members; to promote skill and creativity in quilting; and to contribute to our community through sharing and charity. A social group of local artists who have a passion for all things clay! Offering members-only workshops and events. Our mandate is to provide our members opportunities to create, share ideas, attend workshops, promote sales of art pieces at markets or community events and have fun in a safe environment. Fernie Community Choir
The Fernie Community Choir provides the opportunity for anyone to join and practice as a community choir. They also perform periodically in the community. The Fernie Community Choir meets once per week on Tuesdays from 7-9pm sharp. We accept new members and sing 4 part acapella music. No experience is necessary.
